Fancy volunteering at one of Africa’s top wildlife sanctuaries? Lilongwe Wildlife Centre in Malawi is an award-winning sanctuary renowned for its excellent welfare standards and high conservation impact, and the only sanctuary in the world to have three accreditations from Born Free’s Paw Scheme, Pan African Sanctuary Alliance, and the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries. Alongside the sanctuary, Lilongwe Wildlife Trust’s work also includes running the country’s Wildlife Emergency Response Unit to provide veterinary services for Malawi’s national parks, wildlife and forest reserves. The Trust’s memberships, royal patronage and the backing of the world’s top wildlife charities are proof of its outstanding reputation.

Volunteers and interns are critical to the Centre’s success.  You can get involved in orphan care, animal husbandry, vet clinic support, observations, releases and community outreach and education. And, new for 2018, volunteers can also take part in elephant or samango monkey research at one of two beautiful bush camps. The Centre is currently offering 20% off all 2018 volunteer placements booked by June 30th 2018 (excludes vet externships and placements already booked).
