It’s been a busy couple of weeks for our head vet Dr Amanda Salb. Last week she worked with African Parks on their historic translocation of lions from Majete Wildlife Reserve to Liwonde National Park and just a few days later, she was in Thuma Forest Reserve, helping Wildlife Action Group Malawi to collar some elephants, allowing them to be tracked if they leave the protected area. She also received a call about a hyena trapped in a large garden on a resort compound near Lake Malawi. Amanda darted the hyena, African Parks sent a helicopter and the young male was moved to Liwonde National Park. What a job she has! See some fantastic photos of their work below.
