LAWI & LULU PERFORM FOR WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

4,364 school children from 86 schools took part in LWT’s Wildlife Centre education programme in June, including the celebrations for UNEP World Environment Day, the theme of which this year was ‘zero tolerance for illegal wildlife trade’.

School groups came prepared with songs, dances and poems to perform in front of each other, and they were also treated to a surprise performance from our wildlife activists Lawi and Lulu, both of whom are famous musicians here in Malawi. They also watched the children’s performances and cheered them on.

Events like these are not only a whole lot of fun, but they’re also a platform for children to show off their knowledge and passion for wildlife, empowering the next generation to inspire others to care about their natural heritage.
