Rescued primates at our sanctuary, Lilongwe Wildlife Centre, are often victims of the pet and bushmeat trades. Many of these are given a second chance of a life of freedom through our primate release programme, and the findings have contributed to scientific research.

Urban hyaenas living so closely to people can cause fear and can come into conflict with communities. A hyaena clan living within Lilongwe was identified as at risk and Lilongwe Wildlife Trust joined the operation to move them to Liwonde National Park.
