The Lilongwe Wildlife Centre Education Service...
Purpose of the education service:
How can conservationists expect people to value and understand the importance of their wildlife if they have no experience of it?
By introducing local people to the Wildlife Centre’s animals, individuals that have been rescued, confiscated, orphaned or injured and offering them the opportunity of experiencing the wilderness first hand, the Lilongwe Wildlife Centre provides a chance for many individuals to learn and appreciate fauna and flora and understand current threats to its existence in Malawi. Such education serves to encourage and develop wildlife enthusiasts and assist conservation efforts.
Bringing your school, church or other group to the Lilongwe Wildlife Centre:
The Lilongwe Wildlife Centre is a truly unique place to bring your group. The beautiful natural surroundings, teeming with fascinating wildlife can’t fail to inspire children and take them somewhere that feels a million miles from the bustle of everyday city life. Our dedicated team of education professionals, who have received training from international experts, will ensure that our activity-based programmes are enlightening, educational and fun.
Visits normally take around two hours and will include a guided tour of the Centre (where children will get the chance to see the animals) as well as other curriculum-based activities, games or stories.
